Introduction
Have you ever thought about a foldable iPad mini that folds into an iPhone mini? Well, you can’t have that. But the closest thing may be the first folding Oppo - the Oppo Find N.
The Find series has always been about devastating innovation, and the foldable Find N is another attempt to do so. Find N values the two most controversial aspects of folding elements differently: size and hinge.
It is built around a 7.1-inch Samsung-made LTPO AMOLED foldable screen with a dynamic refresh rate of 120 Hz. Oppo's patented Flexion hinge allows you to create a fold-free fold-free mode and a wrinkle-free fold when unfolded.
The cover is 5.49 inches AMOLED with minimal frames. However, this has a fixed refresh rate of 60 Hz. Both the lid and the folding screens are perforated where the respective personal cameras are located.
When it comes to cameras, the Find N has three high-end latches on the back for a versatile imaging experience. The main shooter is 50 MP with OIS and omnidirectional PDAF, followed by a 13 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and 16 MP ultra-wide shooting. These three sit on a beautiful piece of pottery.
The Find N eye-catching glass body uses a Snapdragon 888 5G chip. There is also plenty of RAM and memory. SoC provides all modern communication options and supports Dual SIM. If Find N is released internationally, you can bet it will cover the required network bands.
the folding form factor has not yet reached perfection and there are some obvious points of pain. Making an inexpensive phone waterproof is not an easy task. It's not impossible, as Samsung did this year, but it's really expensive in terms of both design and budget. Also, no one can make them dust and particle resistant - foldable designs with gaps, hinges and more.
We are not fans of inner self cameras, although we see the need for such. And no, the camera under the screen is missing again - as seen from the latest Samsung Fold3.
Enough teasing, let’s start this show on the road.
Unpacking the Oppo Find N.
The premium Find series have always been packaged in premium retail boxes, and the latest Find N is no different. When we picked up that big black Oppo box, we knew we had a sample device in our hands.
The box is thin but big, and that’s because the Find N ships unfolded in the same way as the Galaxy Fold 3. It’s packed in a protective package, so all is well.
you will find the main accessories for that large box - a 33W power adapter and a USB cable. Unlike previous Oppo flagships, this kit does not include headphones and a case. We know that's enough, but if you're used to high-quality Oppo behavior, you may be disappointed.
Oppo Find N has thin plastic films on both the lid and the folding screens. You can get rid of the screen protectors on the cover, but you should not peel off the inner film - this is likely to damage the folding screen and is (probably) not covered by the warranty.
