Sales were high in the fourth quarter, with Tesla delivering 308,600 units. While the delivery numbers are truly impressive, the numbers are even more important that this huge number has been achieved despite the global challenges plaguing the entire automotive industry.

The pandemic remains a major challenge, as is the global shortage of semiconductor chips. Tesla has also come under the control of safety regulators such as China. Recently, the functionality of the Tesla Autopilot in the US is being studied by NHTSA.

It is also important to know here that Tesla is not available in many markets. Data on units delivered by country are not yet available. However, it can be assumed that most of Tesla's sales were made in China and the US market.
